Dear IYHL Families:

Hockey season is fast approaching and our new web site is up and running, and registration for the 2016-2017 season is now open. Remember to go to usahockey.com to get your players USA Hockey registration number and then go to iyhl.club to register for the season.  Good news, there is no fundraising requirement this year due to the financial strength of the organization.

A few notes as we begin another season: all the information on Rover tryouts is on the site.  Information about our used equipment sale on August 27th, information about the USA coaches clinic at Notre Dame, the checking clinic for all first year bantams that is required, (there will be one later in October or November too), and information about Hockey 101, 201 and 310 at Notre Dame.  These are not IYHL programs and are before the IYHL season begins.  There is also information about the USA Hockey referee clinics in South Bend in August.  As you can see there is a lot of great information on iyhl.club.

I would like to congratulate Craig Brown on being selected as the Rover AA Bantam Head Coach, Nathan Kolessar as the Rover AA Pee Wee Head Coach and Chris Laware as the Rover AA Squirt Head Coach.  The Rover A coaches will be named at a later date in August.  Thanks to all the applicants.  The house league and select coaches will be selected in October and November.  Remember if you want to be a coach or be a team manager this year you need to do a background screening at www.midamhockeyscreen.com and complete the Safe Sport program on the USA Hockey website.  These requirements are in addition to any of your individual coaching requirement that need to be completed.

I look forward to another great year for the IYHL and if you have questions please email me or any of the other board members.  Also, the league always needs volunteers for various projects throughout the year so if you would like to help let me know and we would appreciate any extra help.
