Please also issue the following to your parents:

The hotel is very, very nice.  Any hockey teams staying will have a large conference room at their disposal.  This conference room is also where we have breakfast and hang out during the weekend.  Everyone checking in should receive breakfast vouchers for anyone in there room so be sure that you get those!  The conference room fits plenty of people...trust me when I tell you as I have been to this same hotel for a hockey weekend about 2 months ago and they treat us very well at this hotel (Penn Hockey also recently stayed there).  The hotel has gated parking where your room key gets you in AND out.  Parking is an additional $4/day and is not optional.  You would want it either way.

 

The double bed rooms are first come, first serve.  After that the king bed with sofa pull outs are issued.  Either way there are 2 beds in EVERY room.  I had the king with sofa and it was absolutely fine.

 

One other thing I do want all to know... It's Detroit... I would advise buying supplies BEFORE you go.  If you get desperate and need something close to the hotel go to the Target a few miles down the road.  Just trust me when I tell you avoid the Walmart :-).
