Dear IYHL Families:

We have 4-6 weeks left in the hockey season depending on what level your son or daughter is playing this year.  I want to update everyone on what is happening within the IYHL as we approach the end of the regular season and the beginning of playoffs for 10U, 12U and 14U divisions. 

  1. We have had three goalie clinics so far this year which have been free to our players.We have had a tremendous turnout as at every clinic.There have been 25+ goalies at each clinic.I want to thank Coach Jeff Lafferty for organizing and running these for our players.
  2. We will be putting a 14U and 10U Gaels (all girl’s hockey teams) together and letting them play in a Hockey Time Tournament in South Bend the weekend of February 11-12.Good luck and have fun Gaels.
  3. We have partnered with the BAHA hockey association out of St Joe Michigan to play our 14U house teams and there also will be a jamboree for the 8U blue teams at the end of this month.It is great to work with other organizations to help grow hockey in this area.
  4. There is a new website to promote hockey in Indiana. www.inhockey.netif you get a chance check it out.
  5. A lot of our players go on to play high school hockey in the area and the local league has their City Tournament starting February 17.Check out their web site at www.mhshl.org to see the schedule and go watch some high school hockey.
  6. This year we are going to have IYHL Championship Sunday.We will have our championship game for 10U Green, 10U White, 12U and 14U on March 12.Hopefully your team will make it but if not come out and watch the championship game for your division.
  7. All of our Irish Rover travel teams should make the Northern Illinois Hockey League playoffs for their division.Good luck Rovers!
  8. Finally, we will have our IYHL General Membership meeting March 21 from 6:30-08:00 pm.I will review the season, answer questions, and the membership will vote on board members for the 2017-2018 season.
