AUGUST PRESIDENT’S NOTE

Dear IYHL Families,

Another season is upon us.  The IYHL’s 48th season is about to get underway.  Following is some very important information and dates for the upcoming season.  All registrations are now open.  So, if you are ready to sign up your son or daughter please register them with USA Hockey first at www.usahockey.com.  Once you have their USA hockey number you can register them on the IYHL website which is www.iyhl.club.   Everything you need is on the website to get registered for this season.

Checking Clinic

For those players participating in the 14U group,  the IYHL is offering a free checking clinic.  Players should plan on attending all three dates, August 10, 15, and 22.  Please register online.  This will make our league better and safer so please have your 14U player attend.

Irish Rovers Tryouts

For those players trying out for Irish Rovers travel hockey we have two condition skates before tryouts.  They are August 17 and 24 at the Ice Box.  Tryouts are Aug 26, 27 and 28.

Used Equipment Sale

The IYHL Used Equipment Sale is August 26 from 9am-12 at the ice Box.  If you are selling equipment you must register online at our web site first to get a “seller’s id”.  Equipment drop-off dates are August 17 and 24 at the Icebox.

Fall Learn to Play Program

The IYHL Learn To Play program will begin Sept 10 and run through October 22nd.   The schedule is posted.  We will post rental equipment pickup dates soon.

USA Hockey Coaching Clinic

The USA Hockey coaches clinic for levels 1-3 will be November 12 in South Bend.  If you want to coach in the IYHL this year you need to get your certification.

League Size
Finally, I would like to have 500 kids registered to play in the league this year.  We did have 485 play in our league last year and some players only did our LTP program so when you add in our LTP only players our numbers were well over 500 total players in our program.  So this year let’s “Strive for 500” in our league.  Please tell a friend about our league and encourage them to sign up.
